went out to dinner with the girls for my bday last night!  received some awesome gifts and had fun hanging with the girls!

Many Firsts!

i had to take a quick picture and post this!!! lucy fell asleep by herself when i laid her down in her bassinet awake!  i know that may not sound like a big deal to most people but its HUGE for us!  she's never been able to soothe herself and fall asleep without one of us either walking, rocking, bouncing, singing her to sleep.  i put her down and her eyes were wide awake i walked away and waited for her to start crying, nothing happened so i went and started on some dishes.  few minutes later i looked over and her eyes were closed fast asleep!  i quickly ran over and snapped this picture. =)  yay for lucy good job baby!

i dont know if shes just extra tired today.  we had a big day, well to me it was a big day.  i took lucy out by myself for the first time today.  i had to run an errand at easton and after much back and forth contemplating wether i should go we did it!  it was rough she cried alot and i paced outside nordstrom for a good 20 min before she fell asleep and we can go in.  but we still did it!  now i know how hard it is to get out of the house when you have a kid.  well when i was pregnant i vowed to myself that i was not going to be constrained from doing anything just because i had a kid, now that i have a kid i realize some things are going to be a little more of a challenge.  but im going to keep trying and i know it'll get easier and easier.  besides it wouldnt be fun if it wasnt a challenge right! =)

we love watching you smile in your sleep even though your cries outnumber your smiles

we love changing your cute diapers even though you always decide to go poopy at 3am!

we love giving you a bath and seeing you so happy in the water even though you cry relentlessly when we take you out.

we love watching you sleep peacefully even though you wake up crying too quickly

we love holding you all day even if it means mommy and daddy cant get anything done.

we love watching you eat even when we have to get up in the middle of the night ten times

we love it when you burp even though it takes you forever to burp

we love you unconditionally no matter how much you cry.

happy 1 month old lucy!

lucy will be a month old tommorow!  (not tomorrow but on the 18th).  in chinese traditions they have a big party and celebrate it!  ususally mommy and baby are supposed to stay home for the first month but we have not heeded the chinese tradition and have been taking lucy out.  its impossible to stay cooped up indoors!  i was out the very next day after i got back from the hospital, probably should've rested more but it felt great to get out of the house.  we didnt take lucy out till she was 2 wks old.  by that time nate and i were getting antsy to get out.  we've taken her to easton twice and her first arts festival which she enjoyed even though she slept the entire time. =)

the cloth diapers are going great!  people probably think im strange but i actually enjoy washing them and putting them out to dry.  it does take them forever to dry in the dryer so while the weathers still nice we've rigged up a little clothesline on our deck and are drying them outdoors.  i love all the colors!

our lovely friend joy has lent us her stroller and we've enjoyed taking her out on walks.

the best way we've discovered is with the moby wrap.  she goes to sleep right away when we put her in  it.  i think it mimics being in the womb and she likes being close to us.  its the only way i get anything done around the house.  i wear her in front like a little kangaroo in a pouch!
